Each year the Yorkshire Playhouse will endeavor to award a scholarship or scholarships to area high school graduates seeking to further their education at a college or university of their choosing. The following guidelines must be met for the candidate to be considered:
- The applicant must have had some past experience with the Yorkshire Playhouse either on stage or back stage. This can include Children’s Theatre or regular main stage productions.
- The applicant must complete an application and include a complete listing of past involvement with the Yorkshire Playhouse and other performance experience.
- The applicant must finish in the top 50% of his/her graduating class and/or have a 3.0 (B) grade average.
All qualified applicants will be considered. The most qualified student applicants will be interviewed by the scholarship committee of the Yorkshire Playhouse. Following those interviews, the committee will make recommendation to the Playhouse board for approval with preference given to those students who have been most involved with the Yorkshire Playhouse.
