Audition Dates:

April 5th 6:30PM - 8:00PM

April 6th 10:00AM - 12:00PM

Roles Available for 1 Man (playing age 20s), 5 Women (playing age ranges 30s - 60s), 1 Teen Male (playing age 16), 1 Teen Female (playing age 17), 1 Boy (playing age 7-8)

Last fall, Nebraska playwrights submitted their works for the first annual Yorkshire Playhouse Playwriting Competition. This spring, two of those Playwrights are having their one-act plays produced on our stage. You could be a part of creating these original works, directed by the authors who wrote them.


The Yorkshire Playhouse is holding open auditions for:

"Painting Lavender"

Written and Directed by

Mitchell Roush

Roles available for 3 Males: 1 Boy (playing age 7-8), 1 Male (playing age 16), 1 Male (playing age 20s), & 2 Females: 1 Teenager - playing age 17, 1 Female (playing age 40s-50s).

Performance Dates: May 17-18

"The Funeral"

Roles available for 4 Women: 2 Women (playing age 60s), 1 Women (playing age 40s), 1 Woman (playing age 30s)

Note: These plays will be cast early and likely have around a 2 to 2 1/2 week rehearsal period, beginning sometime around April 29th. Exact rehearsal schedule is up to the play’s director, and a tentative rehearsal schedule will be available at the auditions.

No experience or preparation needed! Auditions will likely consist of cold reads and some improv but exact process is at discretion of the director.  We will be holding auditions April 5th 6:30PM - 8:00PM & April 6th 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Looking forward to seeing you there!
