The Yorkshire Playhouse is a community striving to create an artistic and entertaining theatrical experience for our participants and audience members. Our Volunteers are the heart of that community. Each individual who volunteers at our playhouse brings their creative energy and talents to the theatre, and together, we have been creating art and community in the York area for over 40 years.

Actors, directors, stage crew, set builders and painters, costumers, and makeup artists play vital roles in creating each performance.  Their performances are supported by the tireless efforts of our crew who work Box Office, usher, fund-raise, and provide refreshments for every show.

If you would like to become a part of our community, please, fill out one or more of the forms below.  Volunteers are placed according to their interest, experience, availability, and the theater’s needs.

Putting on shows is hard work, but it is always rewarding. If you are skilled in painting, carpentry, lighting, sound, stage crew, sewing, makeup, or if you've always wanted to learn, fill out the form below to be notified of opportunities.

Whether you have no experience or 50 years of experience, we are always looking for people to come audition. We hold open auditions for all of our shows, if you would like to be informed about times and opportunities, fill out the form below, and keep checking the website.

No show would be possible without the volunteers who facilitate our theater's operations. We need people to write our blog posts, staff the box office, and even bake cookies from time to time. Come join us in bringing great art to central Nebraska.
